Starting in May 2010, an adventurous group of charitable friends will start a 3000 mile trek across America to raise money for the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan.
Brooks grew up in Troy, Mi and Minnetonka, Mn and graduated from Miami University. He currently resides in Denver, Co and will be joining us for part of the trip. As a busy triathalete and bartender he will only be dragging Tim and Michael through portions of Colorado.
Michael Luginbill
Michael grew up in Troy, Mi and graduated from The University of Michigan. Every summer he participates in the WAM 300 ride put on by the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan. This summer will be his sixth tour and we decided to add on an extra zero to the 300 and bike across the country.
Tim Wilkins
Tim grew up in Milford, Mi and graduated from The University of Michigan. He currently resides in Ann Arbor, Mi and works for a major automotive OEM. As an experienced camper the group is looking to him for wisdom on how to cook and how to fend off bears. So far the saying is, "We don't have to outrun a bear, we just have to outrun Tim."
Our first time eating here was in Sacramento where they gave us free cookies. Then since it was so good we had it again in Folsom where we met the manager, Alex, shown in the picture below. We just had to give them a shout out for their incredible pizza, thank you!
It was a joy to have both of you guys here at our home. For the record, Tim and Mike refused perfectly good clean beds and showers and opted for the back lawn! Our two boys Matthew (4) and Spencer (2) were enthralled with the bikes and the camping and can't stop talking about it. You have an ominous day of riding today - but the reward is some breathtaking scenery off hwy 88. Be safe and we will watch your progress every day.
Thank you Dave, Katherine, Matthew and, Spencer for allowing Tim and Mike to camp out at your home. They just knew they would find good people like you along their journey.
love the blogging so far...keep it up! Have fun & be safe guys...
ReplyDeleteSo Far, sounds like everything you hoped it would be, plus Pizza! Mom W
